INFORMATION ( KENOS ).

Bondrewd
Made in Abyss CANON Unknown, between 40-60. AGE Zenith FACTION Tier 1 HARMONIZATION LEVEL
Chapter 38 / End of "Dawn of the Deep Soul". CANON POINT He/him GENDER Stargazer ASPECT Minimal DISCORD LEVEL
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Dressed like a cyberpunk-esque miner, Bondrewd is a masculine individual of unknowable physical appearance that stands around 6'8"/210cm. Covered head to boot in heavy cloth, segmented armor and softly-pulsing violet light, it is reasonable to assume that not even his closest allies know what he truly looks like, as nary a slip of skin shows at any given time — save one. He is a nebulous entity, presumably broad of shoulder and thigh below the heavy layers of worn, aged gear. The most notable elements of his appearance are the dark helm that he wears, a vertical violet panel serving as both a lighting system and a mode of attack, the bone-white whistle styled like emaciated hands clutched in prayer that he wears around his neck, and the massive, segmented metal tail that serves as one of his (many!) charm points!

SHARD
While difficult to observe, due to Bondrewd's habit of wearing clothes from head to toe, his shard takes the form of a smooth-edged black onyx with peacock-green and gold shot through. Its location is CURRENTLY SECRET, but for the purpose of having a record, it is approximately 2.3cm ( under 1" ) at its widest point and sits just below the space where his navel would be. Yes, I used the votes to give him a Shard Womb Tattoo. I'm a heathen. He doesn't care, it's adorable to him.

ASPECT TATTOO
Like his shard, Bondrewd's aspect marking is difficult to observe. The mark of the Stargazer takes the shape of meticulous engraving on the dark metal of his helm (and likely the flesh of his face underneath, for good measure), and can be easily observed when he turns his head at the right angle, catching on the light.

PERSONALITY

BACKGROUND
Ten years prior to the main story, a single Abyss delver did the unprecedented by establishing a base deep within the Fifth Layer called the Idofront. A wanted criminal, a black market dealer, and a proponent for human experimentation, every bounty hunter who came for his head inexplicably vanishes. Those who have met him suspect him to be a thing masquerading as human. He likes elevators, scientific progress and humanity!

ABILITIES & SKILLS
ARTIFACT ABILITIES While the Artifacts of the Abyss present themselves as unique items, Bondrewd has shown that when he regenerates ( e.g. takes over the body of one of his Praying Hands ), they are mutated and reform into his generalized appearance. As this includes all of the Artifacts he wears, it's a nebulous area of whether they are biologically tethered to him, like prosthetics, or capable of being taken off. For Kenos's sake, they are considered biologically tethered to him, due to the aforementioned method of manifestation. They are nerfed to suit Kenos's power-level, as written below.

Artifacts. Also known as "Relics", they are items that are found in the Abyss and ranked by class, from First to Fourth, with Special Grade relics able to affect reality itself and change the world. Regardless of grade, two things are theorized: they all have limited uses, and they are believed to be leftovers from an ancient civilization, unreplicable and incomprehensible. Bondrewd has a number of them, of all ranks and styles, that are biologically tethered to his body ( via experimentation ) and assist in turning him into a walking arsenal.

In order to prevent him from immediately using what amounts to outside resources, rather than innate power, his artifact arsenal is obviously useable only when Harmonized with one of the factions. He is limited in number of uses and intensity of usage by Harmonization level. At Tier 1, he can only use up to THREE Artifacts a day, but may use unique properties in any combination. Following is a list of his Artifacts, and special notes pertaining to them.
— Zoaholic, the Soul-Slave Machine, allows the user to transplant their mind into other living beings, spreading the consciousness throughout multiple bodies. All minds that the user's mind has been transplanted into are also able to share thoughts with each other, and the user is also able to exchange their consciousness fully from one body to the next. This is a form of immortality that has allowed Bondrewd to survive multiple situations that resulted in his death.

As most living things are incapable of enduring the division of their consciousness and thus, after a short while of using Zoaholic, abnormalities begin to surface. Including the subjects outright going insane. Eventually, their consciousness disperses and they become little more than mindless shells functioning sluggishly and mechanically. He currently does not possess Zoaholic, but has goals of obtaining it for #plot reasons, at a later date. This would be done so with additional limitations, adjustments and discussion with mods and players!

— An unknown artifact that allows him to share the eyesight of others and view events (actively happening, not memories) through their senses. It does not allow him to know their intent, however. ( Always would ask permission before using this. )

— Gangway, Ascending to the Morning Star, is an artifact fitted into Bondrewd's mask. It is an attack-oriented artifact that emits a reflective band of light that has the capability to hit whatever object its user concentrates on, reflecting off objects and individuals around Bondrewd. Laser tag, but murderous!

— Shaker, Cursed Needle, is an artifact styled to shoot darts that were crafted from another artifact known as the Cursed Steel, which inflicts the Curse of the 3rd Layer of the Abyss -- vertigo, and visual/auditory hallucinations. Enjoy your fucked up drug trip, please don't bite your tongue off.

— Far Caress, or Touching the Moon, is not technically an Artifact, but an item processed from a living creature that cannot be collected outside of the abyss. It takes the form of innumerably tentacles that are exceedingly strong and elastic. Bondrewd primarily uses this Artifact to create a constricting net around his target or to enhance his agility by using it as a grappling hook. NNNNNYOOOM.

— Canopy Unto Dawn is Bondrewd's armor and clothing! It is a custom made set of armor made from several Artifacts, processed together with bio-fibers derived from living creatures, and built in weapons to increase combat efficiency. It also contributes towards easing the strain of Bondrewd's divided consciousness. Comes with a very elegant cravat!

— Sparagmos, the Origin-Guiding Light is another processed artifact that generates a mysterious blade of light. Whatever it hits is permanently disintegrated as it is an artifact that literally re-writes the laws of reality (e.g. destroying something that isn't capable of being destroyed; causing unhealable damage). For Kenos, it cannot rewrite the laws of reality. If ever there was regain potential, the ability would only ever be used against NPCs and objects, never another PC.

— And Third Works, which was an artifact that took the form of a psychokinetic skeletal arm, was used to make Bondrewd's lizard-like tail! I'm sorry he's so ridiculously kitted out.

INHUMANLY HUMAN

General Superhuman Abilities. Strength, agility, durability. He's very, very efficient with all of these things. They'll be nerfed to in-game requirements, of course!

Intellectual Inhumanity. Bondrewd gave up his humanity, becoming an unknowably eldritch manifestation of scientific research and progress. He is perfectly capable of performing horrific acts, including the illegal and immoral acquisition of funding through the sale of items/information that could threaten the balance of the civilized world, the development of dangerous illicit drugs that cause agony, and extensive, varied experimentation on living humans, including numerous children.

The creation of the Cartridges is one such horror; in order to sustain his energy by combating the Curse of the Abyss, Bondrewd creates specialized packages made from the flesh and essence of humans who are the easiest to transport and won't be missed. For portability, only the brain and vital organs of children are used. The Curse is deflected away from Bondrewd and onto the child in the cartridge instead. A cocktail of drugs is also used to induce a state of ecstasy and terror in the cartridge to boost the Curse-combating efficiency.

However, despite his horrific acts, he genuinely and passionately loves the children, and remembers each and every individual he has ever subjected to his experiments. Ultimately, the purpose of his research is to minimize the human suffering necessary to explore the Abyss by refining and industrializing the necessary sacrifices. He has absolutely zero empathy left, nor does his psyche resemble a human's at all anymore.

NOT ABILITIES, BUT MENTIONABLE

As a White Whistle delver, Bondrewd is considered to be a man whose achievements have changed the world. He is a widely-known historical figure, titled after his unique persona ( Sovereign of the Dawn ) that exists as a combat-ready and highly intelligent forward operative in the continuing quest to understand the Abyss. Bondrewd is a considerable enemy and ally, who values knowledge above all else, including morality and ethics, in his pursuit of preparing for the approach of the next 2,000 year mark -- wherein the Abyss will, once again, change.

Authority. Because of their status, any information that is officially passed by a White Whistle is considered a fact, no matter how absurd. The same information provided by anyone other than a White Whistle would be declared inconclusive. The sheer authority that Bondrewd has is associated with his skill, his ability and his intelligence; while in Kenos it might not amount to much, it is worth being mentioned that while he is used to being the authority and thus, having a certain weight to his words and deeds, he will not struggle too much with being regulated to the bottom once more.

White Whistle. That being said, Bondrewd's White Whistle is an Artifact made from a Life Reverberating Stone. The raw material required to create one of those stones is, quite literally, a human being; the person who is to create the stone/whistle must have the resolve to sacrifice everything for the one who is to use it, thus making the Whistle intended for only one individual and useable only by them. Bondrewd is the only known Delver who used himself as his own Whistle's material; sacrificing his humanity to obtain it means that he no longer counts as a human being.

BLESSING OF THE ABYSS

Blessing of the Abyss. The Abyss is a location known for its "Curse", that is — going down is perilous, but ascending is lethal. The deeper one goes into the Abyss, the more strain it places on their physical body and mental acumen while coming up. From a certain point at the bottom of the 5th Layer, any descent into the Abyss is called "the Last Dive", for no Delvers ever return from it. The Blessing is a phenomenon that Bondrewd discovered while experimenting with the impact and effects of the Curse, and it requires two people: one to bear the Curse, and the other to receive the Blessing.

The effects of the Blessing include a change in appearance ( the fluffification! ), as well as the ability to observe the force field of the Abyss, something that only the predators of the deep are able to see, and is an incredibly useful ability for delving in the pit. It also appears to increase their physical fortitude to some extent Another side-effect of the blessing appears to be the fulfillment of a desire ( Nanachi obtained a body that smells good?? weird ).
LIMITATIONS: I actually don't want him to arrive with this form, but have to work towards "regaining" the fluffification. I'd love to tie it into some exploration of Kenos's land, as the Blessing is intrinsically tied to the Abyss — and there's no Abyss here. That we know of. I just think it'd be a really fun transformative ability, and who wouldn't want to pet a fluffy cat-rabbit-dragon furry man.
T1 HARMONIZATION ABILITIES

Communion. Bondrewd is able to connect his mind to other Shard-Bearers in order to share thoughts, images, memories and emotions with them. This ability is strongest with others of the Stargazer aspect.

Teleportation. As a Shard-Bearer, Bondrewd is able to transmit his physical body between established Cornerstones upon any island.

Purification. Able to arrest and purge the spread of Discord within another Shard-Bearer, Bondrewd is notably drawn to individuals of the Advocate and Exalt aspects and would exacerbate the Discord in individuals who are a part of the Iconoclast aspect.

Spells. He uses Charm Person, Disguise Self & Unseen Servant.
Charm Person. You attempt to charm a humanoid you can see within 30 feet/9 meters. The charmed creature regards you as a friendly acquaintance as long as you are not being aggressive towards them. This effect does not work on those with Shards. When the spell ends, the creature knows it was charmed by you.

Disguise Self. You make yourself--including your clothing, armor, weapons, and other belongings on your person--look different until the spell ends or until you dismiss it. You can seem somewhat shorter or taller and can appear thin, fat, or in between. You can't change your body type, so you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs. Otherwise, the extent of the illusion is up to you.

The changes wrought by this spell fail to hold up to physical inspection. For example, if you use this spell to add a hat to your outfit, objects pass through the hat, and anyone who touches it would feel nothing or would feel your head and hair. If you use this spell to appear thinner than you are, the hand of someone who reaches out to touch you would bump into you while it was seemingly still in midair.

Unseen Servant. This spell creates an invisible, mindless, shapeless, force that performs simple tasks at your command for 1 hour. The servant springs into existence in an unoccupied space on the ground within sight, and is unable to attack.

You can mentally command the servant to move up to 15 feet/4.6 meters and interact with an object. The servant can perform simple tasks that a human servant could do, such as fetching things, cleaning, mending, folding clothes, lighting fires, serving food, and pouring wine. Once you give the command, the servant performs the task to the best of its ability until it completes the task, then waits for your next command.

If you command the servant to perform a task that would move it more than 60 feet/18.3 meters away from you, the spell ends.

OUT OF CHARACTER
Writing Style: I lean towards using [ brackets ] over all else, but have experience in paragraph roleplay.

Backtagging: I live off of backtagging. As long as the thread is moving along, I'll backtag into oblivion.

Threadhopping: I don't mind, unless the thread is obviously a private affair. When in doubt, ask me!

Offensive Subjects: None for me! I'm not keen on gratuitous animal torture, but it is a soft limit when for narrative purpose.

IN CHARACTER
Physical Violence: Yes! Bondrewd is impossible to bait into irritation or anger, and actually appears to enjoy having people assail him — especially if they have carefully laid plans that resolve in his damage or demise. He is a difficult opponent, who employs a variety of tools that allow him to soak damage, remain nimble and agile, and wreck havoc in return. While he would rather focus on communication and science, he understands the violence inherent in life itself, and does not shy away from fighting, or violence. In his canon, he is known as a dangerous scientist, who funds his research through human experimentation, illegal trade of information and Artifacts, and the creation of illicit medicines and drugs. Lots of body horror-type violence comes with him, so please check his content warnings.

Death/Dissipation: Absolutely! Come chat with me for ideas and we'll hash it out!

Physical Affection: Surprisingly, he's very much okay with giving and receiving affection! Bondrewd comes off as a caring individual who takes care of those who are dependent upon him or under his employment, and does not appear to reject or decline physical affection as it comes his way. His own displays of affection are praise, acceptance and general camaraderie, such as handshakes and pats on the shoulder/back, but he would never be adverse to someone seeking attention and affection from him, be it physical or vocal.

Shipping/Sex: Sadly, he is incapable of feeling romantic attraction. Platonic companionship is about all one will get from him, as he no longer has his humanity and is basically married to scientific progress. He can be fucked, but like. Why would you want to?

Mental/Communion: Acceptable! Please reach out to me for unique challenges and consequences.

Offensive Subjects: None. Literally none for him. He is the embodiment of an offensive subject, though.
